When I first started this blog with my husband’s help, I decided that the Gospel of Jesus’ grace would be its focus and prophecy its thrust. For this reason, I had wanted to distance myself from the same-sex marriage debate because I didn’t want to engage in a culture war on the public domain and discuss what I believe had been a lost cause for the Church for over two decades now. Hopefully this post would consist of the one and only commentary my husband and I would be making on the above subject.
In all sincerity, we do believe that the ruling by the US Supreme Court on same-sex marriage is first and foremost God’s judgment on the Church.
"For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God" (1 Peter 4:17).
Oh, make no mistake, America will be judged in due course: God instituted marriage as one between a man and a woman and He will not be mocked. Therefore we expect that God will severely judge all the nations that have legalized, and are going to legalize, same-sex marriage – USA, NZ and France, being among them. We also believe that there is a strong correlation between a society's acceptance of homosexuality and God's judgment on that society.
As for the same-sex couples themselves, we believe that they have already been judged. Being legally seen as equal in the eyes of the law is a judgment from God for He is giving them over to the lust of their flesh. Romans 1:20-7 say:
"For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error."
Thus, God is giving the homosexuals what they want and they are going to suffer the consequences of heaping His wrath on themselves.
Now as far as US President Obama's forcing churches to perform gay marriages or face a revocation of their tax exemption status: although the US President has denied any plans to do this, many believe it to be a lie (see this and this article). Sooner or later, Obama will give in to the LGBT cause. He always does.
This has been the agenda of the satanic LGBT cause since forever. This has been the desire of the diabolical LGBT movement – to silence the Church, if possible, for it is the Church that has been so vocal about the sin of homosexuality. If possible they want something else even more sinister – to close the doors of local churches altogether. After all, it’s not as if they need a church to be legally married. They can be married at a beach, on an ocean liner or in a rose garden, and it can still be legal, what with the ruling by the Supreme Court. And they only need someone formally ordained to marry couples, and this person need not be of the clergy. Hence, all this brouhaha about being allowed to be legally married in a church is simply a pretext for their more sinister and evil scheme: to force the clergy’s hand and compel any local church that defies the court's ruling to close shop.
And we believe that, in the years to come, many churches will close their doors for good or go underground. These are churches that will not compromise the commandments of the Judeo-Christian God, the God of the Bible, the one true and only God. They are churches that will prove their mettle amidst much persecution.
In a perverse way, we think the US Supreme Court's decision may be a beneficial one. As expressed by Ingrid Schleuter, God is in the process of cleaning His house. He must, because the time of sifting is now (before He raptures His bride). Now is the time for Christians to decide if they truly are for God or for the devil. For the Lord’s Second Coming to judge the world is nigh at hand, and when that happens it will be too late for people to take a stand. Now also is the time for us to see which is the true church of God and which is false.
For too long now, the Church has been engaging in activities that are steep in all kinds of abomination, immorality and evil. We have blogged about this in the past. Many mainstream churches already accept homosexuality. Some have gone so far as to ordain homosexual men and women in positions of authority in their churches. However, we all know that these are apostate churches. They belong to the devil, the father of lies, and they are accepting a lie and espousing a lie – that homosexuality is acceptable to God. It is a lie because homosexuality is sin, and it is anathema to God.
Do not fall for the lie that God is more tolerant today than in Old Testament times or that God has changed and, so, the Church must also change to stay culturally relevant. God has not changed. He is immutable. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Do not be deceived by those who try to convince you that Jesus Christ never taught that homosexuality was sin. Of course Jesus taught this. Jesus is the Second Person of the Triune God who created the universe as recorded in Genesis (see John 1). He is the One who created Adam and Eve, the first married couple and the first parents, and then He commanded them to be fruitful and multiply, which is the reason for marriage. Jesus is the God who gave Moses the Ten Commandments at Mt. Sinai and struck with a plague those who instigated Aaron to fashion for them a golden calf before which they could bow down and worship. And Jesus is this same God who handed Moses the Levitical laws in which were contained His commandments about homosexuality (see Leviticus 18:22). This Jesus is also the same God who often quoted from the Old Testament during His earthly ministry and then died for our sins on Mt. Calvary because He knew it was the only way to fulfil His own laws, the laws He knew we could not keep to His satisfaction. Therefore, make no mistake – God has not changed. The God of Mt. Sinai is also the God of Mt. Calvary. And the God of the Old Testament is also the God of the New Testament. This is Jesus Christ, and He is the same God - yesterday, today and forever. And He has not abolished His own laws; if anything, He has fulfilled them, even the Levitical laws.
As Jesus Himself has testified:
"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfil" (Matt. 5:17).
In the coming days, the churches (referring to the local religious organizations) and the Church (the Body of Christ made up of true believers of Christ Jesus) will be seriously tested. Their worldviews, moral compasses and doctrine will be tested. And God will be sifting the tares from among the wheat. Those that compromise and surrender to the law (on homosexual equality) by accepting or marrying homosexual couples will show themselves to be false believers that belong to the false church of Satan. And many no doubt will compromise – to them, protecting their tax-free privileges is more important than upholding biblical truth. No doubt the seeker-friendly mega wealthy false churches will fall under this category. As for those that refuse to compromise but choose to close their doors or go underground, they will show themselves to be the true Church of Jesus Christ.
It will be a time of testing for para-church groups as well. For too long many of the rogue para-church ministries have been also engaging in abominable acts under the umbrella of ‘Christian Ministries’ and in the name of God. Many are amassing a huge fortune for themselves through soliciting for donations in God’s name. These ministries will soon be compelled to choose either to obey God or to obey the law on homosexual rights. Choose the former and they will have to shut down their ministries. They will also have to lose their livelihood. But they will save their souls. Choose the latter, and they make their beds with the devil. We believe that God is once more cleaning up His Church from the sinful business of profiteering for personal gains, just as He did when He chased out the money changers from His temple courts in Jerusalem and scolded them, saying:
“It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves” (Matt. 21:12,13).
If they haven’t done so already, true believers everywhere must brace themselves for severe persecution for their faith and standing up for biblical truth. What is happening in the USA is not going not be an isolated one. It will be a barometer for the rest of the world to gauge the wave of change that is taking place in society and legislation. It will not be too long before most of the nations in the western bloc follow in America’s wake.
The body of Christ will suffer for a time but the Word of God promises that the reward will be great for those who persevere till the end.
“To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne” (Revelation 3:21).
We believe that God has put the Church on notice. This is the time to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). We must all engage in some soul searching and take a stand – are we for Satan or are we for Jesus Christ?
