Balancing the Equation

 Bias Against Israel: A Redress

Kfir Bibas was all of nine months old when he was accosted at his home in Israel and abducted. His brother, Ariel, who was four years old, was also accosted and abducted. Together with his parents and older brother, Kfir Bibas was carted off into the tunnels of Gaza.

Twenty-two year-old German-Israeli altruist, Shani Louk, was among hundreds of party-goers at the Supernova Sukkot Gathering, a music festival taking place near kibbutz Re’im when Hamas terrorists paraglided into the Israeli airspace before braking at the festival. They gunned down and murdered the Israeli revellers en masse. Those that survived the mass shooting were taken as hostages into Gaza. However many of these subsequently suffered horrific torture and deprivation of food, water and recreation. Many would also suffer death.

That day was October 7, 2023. The incident came to be known as 10/7, and it was Israel’s 9/11. It was also the nation’s Holocaust 2.0.

The attack by Hamas on October 7 resulted in hordes of Israelis and other nationals taken hostage to be used as bargaining chips by Hamas for the release of the ‘Palestinian’ prisoners serving time, in Israeli prisons, mostly for serious crimes such as murder and terrorism. At the time of writing this polemic Israel and the United States, under the administration of President Donald Trump, were still negotiating with the Hamas leadership for the release of the remaining hostages that were still alive, as well as the bodies of those that had died.

Sadly, the beautiful Bibas babies and their doting Mom were among the latter. The only person from the Bibas family to make it out alive was the patriarch, Yarden. The Bibas babies had since become the symbols of the war started by Hamas in the October 7 Massacre

Like the Bibas boys, Shani Louk did not survive 10/7. She was murdered at the festival itself after having been brutally assaulted. However, her indignity did not end there. Her body was afterward exposed and paraded through Gaza to jeers and hoots of victory.

Yet about one week after the news of the 10/7 attack and massacre broke, the world began to turn against Israel and stand in solidarity with the ‘Palestinians’. There arose a public relations war on Israel, a concerted effort by vested-interest groups and individuals representing these groups to turn public opinion against the state of Israel and Israelis.

In the aftermath of 10/7 and the sustained retaliation by Israel, the Media Propaganda Machine together with pro-‘Palestinian’ sympathizers, funded by their globalist puppet masters, successfully managed to turn Hamas and the ‘Palestinians’ into heroes at best, victims at worst. Over time, narratives began to be spun of Israel as the aggressors in the conflict. Anti-Israel anti-Zionist activists, the Free Palestine movement, the left-leaning media and even some conservative commentators began to justify the October 7 Massacre as a form of resistance against Israel’s decades-long ‘occupation’ of ‘Palestine’ and her ‘apartheid’ regime, both of which were lies.

Of course, the lies against Israel by the myriad anti-Israel apologists are nothing new. For instance, during, and in the weeks following, the Israel-Hamas conflict of 2009/10, the public had been forced to ingest the lies spun by the media which dishonorably dubbed it the War of Propaganda. We were also regularly served up editorials and commentaries from the Arab and international community, which predictably accused Israel of war crimes and the slaughter of innocents.

On May 31, 2010, about ten Turkish activists on board the Mavi Marmara ship, part of a flotilla that attempted to breach the Gaza blockade, had their lives ended by Israeli commandos. An inquiry into the incident was launched by the United Nations and although reports were inconclusive, the international community proceeded to condemn the actions of the Israeli commandos. Israel was once more demonized as brutal and evil. The U.N. under Ban Ki Moon attempted to force Israel’s hand at suspending the blockade on Gaza.

To many geo-political observers the incident aboard the Mavi Marmara on the pretext of humanitarian activism was a set up to draw sympathy for the ‘Palestinian’ cause and solidify international hatred of Israel. It also succeeded in isolating from the rest of the world this tiny nation state that is the only democracy in the Middle East and the apple of God’s eye.

Sympathy and support for Israel had sunk to new lows.

All the above incidents are examples of the kind of nightmare which Israel has had to handle daily. In addition to defending herself from attacks by various terrorist groups – Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS, AL-Qaeda and the Taliban – Israel has to protect her citizens from dangers on multiple fronts such as calls for their annihilation by the Iranian Ayatollah and threats of war with Iran and its proxies in Syria and Yemen. On top of all that, Israel has to respond to the public relations lies of the global media.

Which brings us to the point of this polemic.

Encountering journalistic bias in a postmodern climate is a given. On a weekly basis we are unable to sail through the day without some op-ed, usually a psyop, being written to slant opinion in favour of ‘Palestinian’ causes. On the other hand there are equally numerous articles and commentaries being written to malign Israel and her right to exist. Voices in the Israel vs. ‘Palestine’ debate run the gamut from political thought leaders and Muslim scholars to anti-Zionist celebrities and even self-hating Jews around the world.

However, sorely missing from this equation are the voices of the Israelis, particularly the denizens of Sderot, the town that has frequently borne the brunt of Hamas’ offensive. It is this voice that should count among the regnant noises of the true propagandists that make up the liberal media and the anti-Israel pro-‘Palestine’ demonstrators.

On one Christian TV programme, the Mayor of Sderot has gone on the record to attest to the facts of Hamas’ aggression toward Israel. Since the late 2000s Sderot, with a population of about thirty thousand, has been hit by more than ten thousand missiles. The munition, smuggled into the Gaza city of tunnels from Egypt, is sponsored by Teheran under the aegis of the Iranian leadership. This is the principal reason for Israel’s blockade on Gaza – the smuggling of ammunition that is used by Hamas to kill Israelis.

The questions the media and the world need to ask themselves are: why has the general public not heard of this deplorable action by Israel’s enemies the last two decades? Why have the media rarely, if ever, reported on Hamas’ crimes against the Israeli community? Why are there no demonstrations on behalf of the citizens of Sderot by the world’s humanitarian and civil rights groups and by the United Nations Security Council? And why are the Ivy League students so vocal about Israeli ‘genocide’ but mum when it comes to Hamas’ attempt at the ethnic cleansing of Sderot’s citizens?

And this brings us to an unassailable truth: in this Woke and postmodern climate, evil is called good and good evil. Where Israel is concerned, few care to push the envelope.

The public relations and propaganda war against Israel to defame, vilify and demonize her by those that hate Israel are ultimately caused by the devil. This is Satan himself, the oldest and greatest enemy of Israel.

In Scripture Christ Jesus describes Satan as a murderer and the father of lies: “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it” (John 8:44).

The Lord Jesus also describes all who tell and spread lies as children of their father, Satan.

No doubt there are people guilty of perpetuating the lies about Israel who themselves are victims of media propaganda and globalist deception, having bought into their public relations bias against Israel. Some among these are professing Christians who are ostensibly being deceived by Satan. It would behoove them to repent for a day shall come when they shall be required to give an account of all their actions including their treatment of Israel. As believers we shall appear before Christ Jesus’ Bema Seat Judgment where we either receive or lose a reward (2 Corinthians 5:9-11). As non-believers we face God’s judgment at the Great White Throne Judgment, whereafter we suffer a second death in the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20).

At the recovery of the bodies of Kfir and Ariel Bibas an entire nation and the world were left in mourning. The Bibas babies are representative of all the children slaughtered on 10/7 who were too young to have done anything wrong to the people of Gaza aside from being Israeli. Our hearts are in turmoil and our collective consciences are awakened to the realization that evil has many faces. They are the face of Hamas and the face of every Hamas supporter and apologist who refuses to acknowledge 10/7 for what it is: Hamas’ crimes against humanity.

Let us be very clear: we want nothing more than to see Hamas and Gaza bombed into oblivion. However for every believer, for Israel and for the rest of the world to heal we must all turn back to God (2 Chronicles 7:14) and pray for the enemy, because “vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord” (Romans 12:19).
